An NVIDIA Certification to Strengthen AI Skills in Digital Life Sciences

Students in the Digital Life Sciences (DLS) study track of the Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences Engineering have recently reached a new milestone in their artificial intelligence journey by earning the “Fundamentals of Deep Learning” certification offered by the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute.

This hands-on training course, delivered by Dr. Theophile Gentilhomme, enabled them to explore the fundamental concepts of deep learning and develop skills that can be directly applied to today’s challenges in the life sciences.

Deep learning is now at the heart of many technological advances, from medical image analysis and drug discovery to bioinformatics and genomics. Through this workshop, students explored how neural networks operate and learned the key steps involved in training artificial intelligence models.

The course also covered several key areas of modern AI, including computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), Transformer architectures, and best practices for developing and deploying machine learning models.

Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in the life sciences. Whether it is used to analyze large biological datasets, automate laboratory processes, or accelerate research, deep learning technologies have become essential tools.

By earning this certification, students strengthen their understanding of cutting-edge methods that are transforming the industry and gain highly sought-after skills in biotechnology, healthcare, and digital technologies applied to the life sciences.

Obtaining this certification highlights both the students’ commitment to developing expertise in artificial intelligence and the mission of the Digital Life Sciences study track: preparing future engineers to master the technologies shaping tomorrow’s careers.
